We are excited to reintroduce the one of best compact infrared cameras Kolari has ever come across as a starter kit. Starting with used ZS cameras, these are refurbished and modified by Kolari and tested to be fully working with a 1 year warranty. Condition may vary, expect minor cosmetic scratches/defects.
Before Kolari launched the Kolari Pocket based on the Canon ELPH 180, our favorite point and shoot cameras for IR were the Lumix ZS series. We switched over to the ELPH as the Lumix cameras were discontinued and got more expensive to find. With the new popularity in Canon point and shoot cameras, in 2024 the ELPH has become the more expensive camera, so we’ve decided to bring back the Lumix ZS series cameras! This choice allows us to offer you an exceptional and cost efficient entry point into infrared photography.
With an unbeatable performance-to-price ratio, these cameras excel for IR, all setting a custom white balance, versatile sharp IR lens without hotspots, and most models featuring full manual controls. We are offering a range of ZS cameras from the ZS1 to ZS30. These cameras all share the same form factor and similar lenses and work well for IR.
A few features that set the specific models apart include:
- Resolution: Ranges from 10 to 18 MP Video Quality: For the best video experience, we recommend the ZS10 or newer, which supports 1080P
- Lens Range: All units cover at least the 25-300mm range; newer models extend this to 24-480mm
- Aperture: All models feature a wide f/3.3 aperture
- GPS Functionality: Newer models include features like GPS, touch screen, and USB charging.
Each camera is capable of capturing stunning infrared photos and has been refurbished by Kolari to ensure optimal performance, backed by a 1 year warranty with extended warranties up to 5 years available. These kits includes a full spectrum camera with a 52mm threaded filter adapter for added versatility. Kits will include a 720 lens filter option, 3 filter 590, 720, and hot mirror starter set option, or more complete filter set options. Ordered Lumix SZ7 720nm converted camera on 2nd Oct , received on 6th Oct, now that’s great service. Camera was well packed & secure in the box, contents where as advertised. It looked brand new, no scrapes, scratches or any marks that I could see. Still getting used to it, but it seems to work fine. The IR action that is listed on your web page for Photoshop also works with Elements 12 (may wont to update that page). I’m happy with my purchase & will use your company again in the future for a DSLR conversion. Also would have no problems recommending your company to friends or anyone that is thinking of buying or converting a camera to IR.
