NYC in IR: Infrared Photography Workshop with Ludovico Andretta & Kolari Vision

Discover NYC in Infrared

This two-day photographic tour will take you through the best locations in the Big Apple to learn infrared photography from Italian infrared photographer Ludovico Andretta (Infrared Master): professional photographer, photography equipment and post-production workflow expert, together with Kolari Vision’s own photographer and technician, Patrick Nadolski.  Students will be guided through the city’s best and most iconic locations on Saturday and Sunday, May 25th – May 26th. Students will be guided through taking the shot on location to the final result with post-production workflow instruction in the classroom. NYC in IR is the perfect opportunity to learn and discuss infrared photography with experts from both an artistic and a technical standpoint.
This workshop is beginner and advanced shooter friendly!


9.30 am: Meeting point at Bethesda Fountain, Central Park.
Presentation on IR theory, why we shoot in IR, types of filters, and camera conversion types (full spectrum, infrared, near infrared, false color, different wavelength, etc.)
Shooting through the south zone of the Park in the morning: Bethesda Terrace, Bow Bridge, Loeb Boathouse, etc.

12:00 pm: Lunch break at Loeb Boathouse
1:30 pm: The Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick Cathedral
2:00 pm: The Empire State Building, Flatiron building, and Madison Square Park
3:00 pm: The New York High Line (total distance less than 4 miles from Central Park)
Early evening: Dinner as a group! (optional)


9.30 am: Meeting point at 9/11 memorial Oculus, shooting in Financial District
11:00 am: Brooklyn Bridge and shooting in Brooklyn.
12:30 pm: Lunch break
2:30 – 6:00 pm: Post-production lessons in classroom.

Schedule time and/or places may vary depending on weather and unexpected conditions.
Itinerary is not binding, for those who want, some routes can be covered by public transport.

Fee: $495 per person. Early bird pricing ($50 off) until April 25th! Hotel, meals, and travel are not included. You can secure your spot here!
Maximum Number of Guests: 15
Subjects: Students will shoot cityscapes and street photography in some of New York’s best locations: Central Park, the Financial District, the Brooklyn Bridge, the High Line, and many others.
Requirements: Students will need a camera capable of shooting infrared photos. A laptop with post-processing software to follow along with the in-classroom editing sessions is recommended.
