About The Contest
Since the start of our competition in 2019, our “Life in Another Light” biannual infrared photography contest has welcomed photographers and videographers from around the world to showcase their unique approaches to storytelling in a niche but growing genre. Our Life in Another Light photo contest has welcomed creatives in 2019, 2020, 2022, and now 2024.
This year, we’ve had over 3,000 submissions spread across eleven photography categories and, for the first time in our contest history, one short film category. We’re proud to have helped elevate the art of infrared photography, and as a result, our infrared filters have made its way into high-level cinematography including The Irishman (2019), Nope (2022), and most recently in Dune: Part II (2024).
Our panel of 7 judges, including guest photographers Pierre-Louis Ferrer and Yann Philippe to help with judging for our Candy Chrome and IR Chrome categories respectively, evaluated each image based on technical execution, composition, and creativity in three rounds of judging before selecting the winners showcased here.
