Kolari Vision Infrared Lens Filter 550nm

Discover a new spectrum of creativity with the Kolari Vision 550nm Infrared Lens Filter. | Inspired by false-color IR film, the 550nm can produce deep blue skies and pink foliage. The 550nm lets in more visible light than the 590nm filter and can be used to emulate aerochrome (but not as easily as our IR Chrome Filter) after a channel swap and a few hue adjustments. The unique colors that can be achieved with this filter are perfect for interesting IR landscapes. | With Kolari Vision’s precision engineering and superior optical quality, you can achieve exceptional clarity and detail in every shot.

This filter requires a full-spectrum converted camera to produce the desired visual effect.

Uncoated glass, like in our standard IR filters, has a reflection of around 7.7% at all wavelengths (about 4% when the light enters the glass, and another 4% when the light exits the glass). For our Pro Gen 3 IR filters, we developed an IR centered anti-reflective coating that reduced the ~7.7% reflection down to <0.4% on average over the IR band, reducing ghosting and glare while increasing overall transmission from 90% to 98%. We also topped our Gen 3 filters with a hydrophobic anti-smudge scratch resistant coating to increase durability and make cleaning easy.
