We’re excited to introduce our new front-body replacement filters for Blackmagic Cinema cameras! Our Kolari Hot Mirror filter options can replace the OEM Hot Mirror of a Blackmagic camera providing corrosion resistance amongst various other improvements. These are the perfect replacement filter option for scratched original filters or filters affected by corrosion, fungus, mold, or any other environmental damage and degradation and consist of the professional-level optics we’re known for.
Filter Option Guide:
Replacement for Original Hot Mirror (Equivalent to Kolari Standard Hot Mirror)
We optimized this filter to provide the closest color match to the original Blackmagic UV/IR cutting hot mirror.
This filter is the option to choose if you have existing LUTs for your Blackmagic as it will retain the same color profile across the board while offering the added protection that our advanced surface coatings provide.
This filter is for visible light-only videography and photography.
We offer a replacement for original hot mirror for the PYXIS 6k Cinema Camera and Cinema Camera 6k Full Frame, but it is worth mentioning that the OLPF strength of this filter is a bit weaker than the original for these specific cameras.
Upgraded IR Blocking Hot Mirror (Equivalent to Kolari Hot Mirror Pro 2)
This is our latest generation of UV and IR blocking glass specifically designed to provide the cleanest visible light image possible. This filter glass provides a more aggressive UV cut, and removes the residual IR bleed at the top end which were both issues found on the original Blackmagic filter. This filter will remove the pink hues from clothing and foliage and produce a clean visible light image akin to that found on high end dedicated photography cameras from Canon, Sony, Fuji and Nikon. This camera averages the light response curve to match and average across major camera brands.
“with OLPF” option: This option acts like the above except instead of averaging the response across brands, it instead is glass taken directly from an equivalent model so as to match the color response curve much closer to the character of the original model.
These filters may not be compatible with existing LUTs made for the IR blocking glass found in stock Blackmagic cameras, and may require making new LUTs.
This filter is for visible light-only videography and photography
Full Spectrum Clear Glass
This is our multispectral infrared Full Spectrum clear glass for the Blackmagic cameras. This option will allow the sensor to detect UV, Visible, and Infrared wavelengths of light – typically combined with our range of infrared bandpass filters for specific visual effects.
“AR/AS” option: This glass will pass all wavelengths that the sensor is capable of detecting while minimizing unwanted infrared stray reflections and ghosting. We apply our anti-reflective and anti-smudge hard coatings to our premium glass to increase light transmission while reducing flares and ghosting. These multi-coatings make cleaning and upkeep an effortless task due to their hydrophobic, dust-resistant, and scratch-resistant qualities.
These filters are designed for infrared and full spectrum videography and photography.
Infrared options
These filters can be used to capture specific combinations of infrared and visible wavelengths. Each type will produce varying visual effects, for more information on these please see some examples here, additionally you can checkout our user submitted infrared photos in our gallery for reference.
Not that for form factor: Type 1A these will be standard uncoated filters, for all other supported for factors we use our anti-reflective and anti-smudge premium coatings.

Type 1 filters do not come with a frame, they are instead installed in the camera with the original rubber O-ring. For Type 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, the filter will be provided with our own frames .
If your camera does not have an associated form factor, or the camera model is not listed here, unfortunately, we don’t yet have recommendations on which filter size your camera will need. If you can get in touch with our customer service team we can check the fit based on the your dimension measurements and we should be able to make a recommendation for the correct form factor type.
If you’d prefer to have us professionally install replacement glass for any of these cameras models please see the service page here. We can take camera models that don’t have an associated form factor in the table above and custom fit our glass to it.
If you purchase a filter that doesn’t fit, we are happy to exchange it provided it is undamaged.
