Lonely Summer 112

Seaside resorts have revolutionized access to summer holidays in their time.
Offering accommodation and conveniences suitable for families, these resorts were the precursors of mass tourism by multiplying the number of inhabitants each summer.

Today, these seaside resorts seem obsolete, the average age of holidaymakers has significantly increased and the younger generation is no longer attracted to this mode of “consumption” of holidays.

This series illustrates the loneliness that can sometimes be felt in some of these resorts, when the summer season is struggling to start and the facilities seem disproportionate to human activity. The use of infrared photography increases this feeling of surreal places and situations.
