Nordic landscapes and northern lights – 15

Here, full spectrum truly shows what firework we could see if our eyes had infrared capabilities as well. The sky has a purple taint due to the infrared sky emissions and the horizon again shifts colours due to visible light absorption.
The Triffid nebula

White Christmas in Hong Kong

The IR effect turns the early autumn greenish scenery into a White Christmas in Hong Kong. The long exposure of the light trails add a little bit sweet to the photo.
NATURE WINS

Palm Springs
Jesse

A panorama of the Khumbu Glacier Field in Sagarmatha National Park. Specifically hiked a nearby mountain, Kala Patthar, to get a better top view of the glacier field and glacier pools, waiting specifically for sunset to highlight both Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse.
Cyber City

The infrared effect turns a city into cyber look which makes it looks so surreal.
La menace

I shot with a gfx 50S. It was on the Alpes in France, and I was on 2500 m on a beautifull place and the sky beginn to be darker. It was time to go..
The Race

A winter scene shot in Florida. The tree in the foreground appears to be holding back the clouds as the boaters race away.
Kofa Solitude

Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in southwestern U.S. Aircraft were in evidence.
Mountains

A shot from the roadside in New Mexico. I don’t know whose place this is but it sure was stunning. If I win, I’ll give the property owner half!
Kinda Painterly

Taken through an orange (G) filter on a day when IR shots just weren’t working. Sometimes you just have to take chances though. A fair amount of green wavelengths pop through orange filters so why not use that? A swatch of color maybe?
Approaching Chrome

Simple scenes occasionally work well in IR. This is from an undisclosed location along the American Atlantic coast. I wish I were fluent enough in the art of critique to say why this worked for me, but maybe it’s enough to point out that reflections are pretty.
