Komodo National Park – Sweltering under the midday sun we climbed and we climbed and we climbed. The view was spectacular but washed out under the heat of the day and with the sullen browns of the dry season it wasn’t giving me much photographic inspiration. Luckily along with water I had packed my IR camera. With my eye to the viewfinder this scene became dramatic, the sky and sea becoming dark and moody, small green trees popping out in stark contrast to the brown landscape and the first puffy rain clouds of the wet season starting to move in. While a tropical location, IR helped to convey how dramatic this landscape really is. Three photos needed to be stitched together to make this final image.
