2020 Kolari Vision “Life in Another Light” Infrared Photo Contest Official Rules

The 2020 Kolari Vision “Life in Another Light” Infrared Photo Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Kolari Vision LLC (“Sponsor”).All ten (10) categories will be awarded a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize as well as a maximum of four (4) honorable mentions per category.TEN (10) FIRST-PLACE PRIZES: The 1st-Place prize winner for each of the 10 contest categories will receive a $200 Kolari Vision Gift Card as well as their choice of one of the following prizes:

• ONE (1) Conversion Service for Any Camera (valued up to $1150)
• ONE (1) Kolari Pocket Full-Spectrum Camera w/ 3-filter Kit
• TWO (2) Kolari Pro IRND Filters of any Size and F-stop Number

TEN (10) SECOND-PLACE PRIZES: The 2nd-Place prize winner for each of the 10 contest categories will receive a $100 Kolari Vision Gift Card as well as their choice of one of the following prizes:

• ONE (1) Conversion Service for Any Camera (valued up to $1150)
• ONE (1) Kolari Pocket Full-Spectrum Camera w/ 3-filter Kit
• TWO (2) Kolari Pro IRND Filters of any Size and F-stop Number

TEN (10) THIRD-PLACE PRIZES: The 3rd-Place prize winner for each of the 10 contest categories will receive a $50 Kolari Vision Gift Card as well as their choice of one of the following prizes:

FORTY (40) HONORARY MENTION PRIZES: A maximum of four (4) Honorary mentions for each of the 10 photo categories will receive a $50 Kolari Vision Gift Card.Prize Terms: All 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-pace category winners receiving physical merchandise or a conversion service will be eligible for free domestic shipping if located in the United States. Non-US winners must pay shipping charges for international shipping. Delivery of specific prize items may vary subject to item availability and order processing times. Specific conversion and filter options are subject to stock availability. You may enter electronically. Entry is free. Entries are limited to fifteen (15) per person; exceeding this may result in disqualification. Photo essay entries are considered as  one (1) entry, and must contain between ten to twenty (10-20) photos per essay. Submissions to the Contest must be received by 11:59 p.m. November 1st, 2020, Eastern Time (“EST”), in order to be eligible; entries received after that date will be deemed ineligible to win. All submitted entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned; Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, inaccurate, incomplete, damaged, illegible, or misdirected entries. Each entry must be submitted on an individual basis (i.e., no team, joint, or corporate entries) and all components of the entry must be the original creation of the submitting participant. Only non-commercial work may be submitted. Entries may not contain profanity, nudity, pornographic images, violent images, anti-competition messages, illegal material, or material that violates the rights of third parties. Entries may not include confidential information, trade secrets, trademarks or copyrighted material belonging to any person or entity other than the entrant absent a suitable license or permission agreement, proof of which is required. Entries containing any forbidden matter or material otherwise deemed by Sponsor to be inappropriate will be disqualified. Online entries will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry.PHOTO MANIPULATION: Post processing images is allowed. This includes channel swapping and global adjustments to exposure, contrast, burning, dodging, cropping, sharpening, noise reduction, and tone. Minor cleaning of images is permitted, including the removal of dust and scratches. HDR, panoramas, focus stacking or other techniques that involve using multiple images taken at the same time and place are also allowed. While digital manipulation is permitted, please keep in mind this not a Photoshop competition. Images that appear to be overly processed may be disqualified at the judges’ discretion.JUDGING: A panel of judges consisting of Kolari Vision editors will select the winning entry based equally upon the criteria of originality, skill, relevance, and community popularity. Entries will be visible publicly on during the contest and can be voted on and shared. By entering, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules, and that the decisions of the judges are final and binding in all respects. Judging will be completed and potential winners will be notified by email on or before November 23rd, 2020. Potential winners may be required to sign and return a sworn Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release. If required documentation is not returned within seven (7) business days of notification, or if notification is returned as undeliverable, any prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.PRIZE AWARDS: Prizes will be awarded within ninety (90) days after winner verification. No prize substitution or transfer is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value, including cash, for any reason. Sponsor is required by law to report prize values to taxing authorities; all taxes and any other incidental expenses on prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner.GENERAL RULES & LIMITATIONS: By entering, you represent and warrant that: (i) your entry is your own original work; and (ii) you have the legal right to convey the below-identified rights in your entry to Sponsor.
