2024 B+W Infrared: Oregon Southern Coast

We will be shooting a variety of landscapes up and down the southern coast of Oregon: Shore Acres State Park, Coquille River Lighthouse, Bandon Beach, Face Rock, Battle Rock, spots along the Samuel H Boardman Scenic Corridor, Simpson Reef (the seal haul out), Cape Arago Lighthouse. Our early morning sessions will feature the setting full moon over Bandon Beach at sunrise. We also get to experience Pacific Ocean sunsets at low tide, which are second to none!
From using the right gear to capture and processing, this is a unique opportunity to learn how to create amazing black-and-white infrared images.
At this workshop,
— You will be placed in the best locations to maximize the infrared light under existing conditions.
— You will receive individual help in the field to ensure a successful capture. Every day there will be hands-on experience in the classroom for processing your images while learning how to manage workflow.
— Finally, you will have the opportunity to use a “loaner” 720nm, 780nm, and 850nm Kolari external lens filter to make infrared images at no charge to you!

Skills Required: Thorough working knowledge of your camera from capture histogram to Live-View (mirrored cameras only); must have intermediate-level working knowledge using Adobe Bridge, Camera Raw or Lightroom, and working in Adobe Photoshop adjustment layers; must bring your laptop for class time to learn workflow and process your images.
